Dutch Courage on Design with David Heldt and Arnout Visser

For this De Ruyter event on Thursday 21 September during the London Design Festival we are joined by publisher and curator David Heldt and designer and form-finder Arnout Visser to discuss form vs functionality in design.De Ruyter Form vs Functionality in DesignConnecting the Dots magazineDavid Heldt is the curator for the Enlightened Design II exhibition of the London Design Festival and publisher of Connecting The Dots magazine. The Dots presents Dutch designers and design culture on an international stage during key design events and fairs. David holds a BA in Architectural Design at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Enschede and a Masters in Design Futures from Goldsmiths University of London.

 

 

 

Arnout Visser is a designer bridging disciplines from product to furniture and interior to graphic design using a wide variety of materials, from glass and ceramics to plastics, metal and even water.Arnout Visser overview His work is often inspired by physical or mechanical laws, such as Archimedes’ Hydrostatics Law and follows in the tradition of inventors and scientists such as Kepler, Newton, Huygens and Van Leeuwenhoek. Arnout holds a BA in 3D Design from ArtEZ school of Arts in Arnhem and Masters from Domus Academy in Milan.
