For our 31 May De Ruyter event on focusing on film we are joined by Matthias Lebeer. Matthias is an international film director whose career immediately took off when his first post-graduation short film was nominated for an Oscar. He divides his time between artistic projects and commercial projects such as ads and music videos. His first feature film, “The Fearless Tigers”, is expected to come out in 2019.

Matthias will provide a look behind the scenes to see what it takes to bring a production from idea to screen. He will talk about the challenges of being a film director, from filming in war zones to dealing with difficult clients, filming in China for The Fearless Tigers and how the key to succeed in directing is picking your battles.
